Gave up some of what little sleep I get to watch the first episode of The Handmaid's Tale on Hulu. (The first three are up.)
I honestly don't think I've ever before seen a movie/television adaption of a book that stays so completely true to the source material. It's amazingly done, and by that, I mean terrifying.
Particularly in our current political and social climate.

Aaah I still haven't read the book! I'm going through a major reading slump and can't read (although I do read some drarry every day) and have read the first few pages of the Handmaiden and then stopped. I need to get round to reading it, bc I do want to watch this series.

Honestly, I would never normally recommend that someone watch the adaptation before reading the book, but in this case they stay so true to every theme I can't imagine it'd be a problem.

I might then, because I want to continue with the Lymond Chronicles I'm (trying to) read. I've got to write a short fic for a fic/art!swap we're doing in the tinyfandom (the Lymond fandom).
(yet another thing on my to-do list!! aaargghgh)
